c-erbB-2/HER-2 (Clone SP3)
Rabbit anti-Human c-erbB-2 (Clone SP3, Catalog #M3030, M3031, M3034) monoclonal antibody reacts with c-erbB2, a receptor tyrosine kinase of the c-erbB family in homology to the epidermal growth factor receptor. The c-erbB-2 oncoprotein is detectable in a proportion of breast and other adenocarconomas, as well as transitional cell carcinomas. The HER2 protein is a normal component expressed by a variety of epithelial cell types. In the case of breast cancer, expression determined by immunohistochemistry has been shown to be associated with poor prognosis.
According to Nassar et al., SP3 shows better concordance (93.8%) than HercepTest(R) (46.9%) with FISH results.
