AKT-1/2
Catalog Number: E10840
Two serine/threonine kinases, designated AKT-1 and AKT-2 (alternatively referred to as PKB or RacPK), exhibit sequence homology with the protein kinase A and C families and are encoded by the c-akt proto-oncogene. AKT-1 and AKT-2 contain a Pleckstrin homology (PH) domain and are activated by PDGF stimulation. This activation is dependent on PDGFR-beta tyrosine residues 740 and 751, which bind the 85kDa subunit of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI-3 kinase) complex. The protein may signal downstream of the PI kinases.
